Fenemore, Hilda   (1914-2004)
Fenemore, Hilda Great British character actress, with two very early Carry On films to her credit.
An exceptionally rare 8.5" x 6.5" original black and white publicity photograph for the 1954 television production of George Orwell's 1984, with the screenplay written by the great Nigel Kneale. Hilda Fenemore played Mrs Parsons in the production and has added a bold blue ink signature in later years to a clear area of the image.

A truly lovely vintage 5" x 7" sepia photograph, nicely signed in blue fountain pen ink to a lighter area of the image. To the reverse is a signed letter, handwritten in the same blue fountain pen ink, giving a fan the name and address of the president of her fan club in New York ("it would be grand to know that you are a new member").

An exceptionally rare signed and inscribed vintage 8" x 10" sepia photograph by the great stage photographer ANGUS McBEAN (his stamp is to the reverse)  showing a scene from Finch's second stage play, Captain Carvello (1950) at the St James Theatre in London.(This was directed by Laurence Olivier for his company Laurence Olivier Productions Ltd).

A rare collectable from Albert Finney's post-RADA days - a large programme (12"x 9.5") for the remarkable 1959 production of King Lear at the Shakespeare Memorial Theatre in Stratford, starring the great Charles Laughton in the title role. Albert Finney played Edgar in this production, and it is interesting that the original collector (a lady) made a beeline for him! The programme has his signature in blue ink and the actor Paul Mason, who played Edmund's Captain has also signed in blue ink.
