| Gray, Sally (1916-2006) |
|
|
Very pretty British screen heroine of the 1930s and 1940s. In 1949 Sally Gray starred in a tense and claustrophobic film noir classic, Obsession, playing a manipulative, cheating wife called Storm Riordan. Robert Newton played her psychiatrist husband and the American actor, Phil Brown (1916-2006) played her latest lover. Catching them in the act, Robert Newton has finally had enough and, marched off at gunpoint, Phil Brown disappears. The drama is played out in a single hidden room that no one knows Newton owns, where he plans revenge and the perfect murder. Sally Gray's performance in the film is outstanding. This is a superb British Film Institute black and white 8" x 10" publicity photograph for Obsession, boldly signed by both Sally Gray and Phil Brown in black ink across a clear area of the image. Both signatures were obtained later in life and in person. VERY RARE. View Details |
