A fine typed letter on The Old Vic Theatre Company headed notepaper (25th September 1946) to a lady who has written to say she enjoyed their production of Thornton Wilder's play The Skin of Our Teeth (which starred Vivien Leigh as Sabina). This opened at the Phoenix Theatre in London on May 15th 1945, moved to the Piccadilly Theatre on September 11th 1946 and later toured Australia and New Zealand from September 1st 1948. Olivier thanks the lady and concludes the letter with a bold signature (L.Olivier) in blue fountain pen ink.
