Leigh, Andrew   (1887-1957)
Leigh, Andrew British actor and stage director, remembered for his role as the Burgomaster in Hammer's 1957 film, The Curse of Frankenstein, starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.
A fine letter, handwritten in ink (Theatre Royal, Windsor, 28.10.33) to the actor Stuart Bull, in search of work, giving him the bad news that "there is nothing at the moment".

Leigh, Vivien Double Oscar-winning British actress.
This is one of the most iconic images of Vivien Leigh, taken in 1938 by the great Welsh photographer, Angus McBean. With superb composition and beautiful lighting, it became one of his best known portraits and was used in later years by the Post Office on a commemorative stamp.  It was also one of Vivien's personal favourites and was reproduced for fans as a gorgeous 6.5" x 4.5" vintage sepia photograph. This is a very fine example, signed in blue fountain pen ink across a clear area of the image.

Leigh, Vivien   (1913-1967)
Leigh, Vivien Double Oscar-winning British actress.
In 1963 Leigh starred in a New York romantic stage musical, Tovarich, with music by Lee Lockriss and lyrics by Anne Croswell. It ran for a total of 264 performances, winning her a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

This is a very fine Playbill programme for Tovarich at the Broadway Theatre (the musical premiered there in March 1963 and later moved to the Majestic Theatre). There's an excellent signature in red ink of Vivien Leigh on the front cover, and her co-star, French actor Jean-Pierre Aumont (1911-2001) has also added a signature in red ink alongside. Byron Mitchell, who played George, the young member of the family who develops a crush on Vivien as Tatiana, has signed the lower part of the cover in blue ink.
