Mills, Freddie (and Ronald Lewis)   (1919-1965)
Mills, Freddie (and Ronald Lewis) British boxer. World Light Heavyweight Champion from 1948 -1950.
A very fine early 1960s album page (5" x 3.5"), nicely signed in blue ink.
To the reverse is the very fine signature in blue ink of Welsh actor, Ronald Lewis (1928-1982), in some excellent films including Helen of Troy (1956), A Hill in Korea (1956), Scream of Fear (1961) and Billy Budd (1962). Things started to go wrong for Lewis in 1965 when he failed to turn up on an arrest warrant for an alleged assault on his wife. The parts rapidly dried up and by 1981 he was declared bankrupt. Lewis committed suicide the following year with an overdose of barbiturates. His body was found in a cheap boarding house in Pimlico.
