collection of four black and white postcard-sized photographs of the
leading stars of the original London production of Rodgers and
Hammerstein's great musical, South Pacific, which ran from 1951 to 1953 at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane. The photographs are of Wilbur Evans (Emile de Becque), Mary Martin (Nellie Forbush), Muriel Smith (Bloody Mary) and Peter Grant (Joe Cable). All are signed in ink; three are inscribed to the same collector and the date on the Muriel Smith suggests they were all acquired in the last year of the musical's run, 1953. View Details |
