Charles Laughton
One of the greatest film and stage actors Britain has produced; also proved an excellent director in Night of the Hunter (1955).
Laughton’s films include The Old Dark House (1932), Payment Deferred (1932), The Sign of the Cross (as Nero, 1932), Ruggles of Red Gap (1935), Mutiny on the Bounty (as Bligh, AAN 1935), Rembrandt (1936), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1939), Hobson’s Choice (1954), Witness for the Prosecution (AAN 1957), Spartacus (1960) and Advise and Consent (1962).
He was awarded an Oscar for his performance in The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933).
This is a very fine early vintage FILMSHOTS photograph (5.5" x 3.5"), showing Laughton with Elsa Lanchester in a scene from The Private Life of Henry VIII. There's an excellent, clear signature in dark blue ink (not across the dark area of an image he normally decides to use!) Overall condition is very good. RARE
