Al Pacino
Iconic American actor, one of the greatest in film history.
After studying at Lee Strasburg’s Actors Studio in 1966, Pacino learned his trade on stage and in a series of minor films until he hit the jackpot as Michael Corleone in The Godfather (1972). This earned earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Since then Pacino has become a screen legend with such as Serpico (1973), Dog Day Afternoon (1975) Scarface (1983), Sea of Love (1989) Dick Tracy (1990), Glengarry Glen Ross (1992), Frankie and Johnny (1991), Scent of a Woman (earning him his first Oscar for Best Actor, 1992), Carlito's Way (1993) Heat (1995), Donnie Brasco (1997), The Devil's Advocate (1997), The Insider (1999) and many others.
This is a rare opportunity to obtain a REAL Pacino signature.
In June 1979 Pacino was appearing on Broadway at the Cort Theater in the title role in a production of Shakespeare's Richard III. This is a copy of the Paybill programme for that production with TWO authentic Pacino signatures - one in red ink on the cover, and a second, with an inscription ("To John, Al Pacino") on the cast page. Condition is excellent. The signature on the cover runs over a dark area and can be read only with difficulty. The signature on the cast page is fine.
There were times and circumstances when Pacino signed readily and with a signature that wasn't a ludicrous ink squiggle. "John" was lucky.
