Anthony Hopkins

Great Welsh actor.
RADA-trained Hopkins made is stage debut in 1960, and then spent four years in regional repertory before his first London success in Julius Caesar. His film debut was not, as has often been cited, his appearance as Prince Richard in The Lion in Winter (1968), but in an odd, "pop-art" film, The White Bus (1967). In the 1970s he became typed in intense, neurotic roles in films such as Audrey Rose (1976), Magic (1978), The Elephant Man (1980) and The Bounty (as Captain Bligh, 1982).
In 1991, Hopkins won an Academy Award, and became an international star, for his bloodcurdling portrayal of murderer Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs. This was followed Howard’s End (1992), Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992), Shadowlands (1993), The Remains of the Day (1993), Nixon (1995), Surviving Picasso (1996), Amistad (AAN 1997), Mask of Zorro (1998), Hannibal (2001), Red Dragon (2002), Alexander (2004) and Hitchcock (2012).
This is a very fine black and white (with a hint of sepia) photograph (7" x 5"), nicely signed in silver ink. In excellent condition. Increasingly scarce.
